Hypnotherapy is a deeply relaxing and therapeutic process that guides you into a calm, focused state of awareness which is commonly known as a hypnotic trance which sounds out of the ordinary but it's a state you access every day between being awake and asleep or if you daydream. In this state, your subconscious becomes more receptive to calming, empowering suggestions and you are able to more easily track the origin of your discomfort. Unlike what you see in stage hypnosis, you remain fully aware and in control at all times. It's just like being in that lovely dreamy state when you'd rather stay in bed a little longer, you can pull yourself awake and answer the door it you need to but you'd rather not!

What to Expect in a Hypnotherapy Session
Your comfort is my top priority. Each session begins with an open, supportive conversation. I hold a space without judgement or pressure. During our conversation it's likely there will be something that I sense holds an emotional charge or links back to old trauma. We will agree on where to begin the focus of the session and I will guide you into a relaxed, receptive state using breathwork and imagery. We create a this safe space within which to explore underlying thought patterns. I have many techniques to draw upon but often find approaching from an inner child healing, parts therapy / IFS (Internal Family Systems) feels an intuitive and natural way to reprogram anxious responses by meeting the needs of the younger self that were not met in childhood in this subconscious state. You’ll leave each session with a slightly new perspective and often with tools to use in everyday life, empowering your growth between visits.
